Ipsen, Cherry Valley, Ill., reports that Zenith Cutter, an Illinois manufacturing company, has purchased a Titan H6 vacuum furnace with two-bar gas quenching for its sister company Metkraft in Vietnam to process its industrial knives, cutter blades, and related accessories. Metkraft previously used atmosphere heat-treating for production, but has transitioned to vacuum equipment. Both Zenith Cutter and Metkraft are members of the Fisher Barton Group, Watertown, Wisconsin.
The furnace features a graphite work zone measuring a 36 x 48 x 36 inches with a 3000-pound load capacity. It is capable of operating at temperatures of 1000 to 2400°F, with ±10°F temperature uniformity. The furnace is also equipped with a closed-loop water system and Ipsen’s PdMetrics predictive maintenance software. The company also took advantage of Ipsen’s support offerings, which include Ipsen U training, a spare parts kit, and installation supervision/start-up.
Ipsen’s Titan vacuum heat-treating furnaces are available in several sizes with horizontal or vertical configurations, nitrogen or argon quench, and graphite or all-metal hot zone construction.
