Metallisation, UK, has developed a durable non-slip thermally sprayed coating called 28E Arctec. It is a reinforced aluminum-based non-slip coating ideal for flooring areas, bridge decks, escalators, steel floors, and panels across a range of industries. It can be applied with a rough texture and has excellent non-slip properties, while being extremely hard and resistant to wear and corrosion.   28E Arctec is applied by the Metallisation arcspray process with the ARC 140 system.

Metals plant slated for $10 million expansion

GKN Sinter Metals, Auburn Hills, Mich., is planning a $10 million expansion of its Gallipolis production facility in southeastern Ohio’s Gallia County. Matt Daniels, manager of the plant in Gallipolis, Ohio, said the project is expected to add 50 full-time jobs and generate up to $20 million in additional sales for the company over the next 2-3 years.

Vacuum Induction Degassing furnace produces vacuum treated steels in one step

ALD Vacuum Technologies, Germany, has developed the Vacuum Induction Degassing (VID) furnace concept for special applications in the ferrous and non-ferrous metals industry for charge weights up to 30 tons. Smaller steel shops and foundries will be able to produce high quality vacuum treated steels with the VID furnace in one step. The temperature losses during degassing treatment are compensated by induction heating.
