EFD Induction, Germany, has opened their doors for a small family fleeing from the war in Ukraine. The married couple with a young son has been given one of the company’s apartments as accommodation.
After the first bomb alert on the 24th of February, the family fleed from the port city of Odessa, to the countryside. However, they soon realized they would not be safe there, and the next day travelled on to Moldova where they spent several nights in their car in sub-zero temperatures.
Driving via Romania, Hungary and Austria, they arrived in the southwestern part of Germany on March the 7th.
EFD Induction Germany heard of the family and their plights through a former employee and offered them one of the company’s apartments as accommodation. The family was able to move into the apartment on the 17th of March where they could sleep safely, after almost three weeks on the run.
