Admedes develops Nitinol thin-film sputtering technology

Admedes Schuessler GmbH, Germany, announces that its Nitinol thin film sputtering technology is now ready to be utilized for new medical devices. These include long-term implants to take advantage of superior fatigue properties, high-integration potential, and wafer-sized fabrication. Other potential applications include self-expanding electrodes, (neuro)vascular devices, micro actuators, local drug delivery, biomimetic surfaces, and smart implants/bioMEMS.

“I am proud of the technologies we have developed over the last couple of years,” says Dr. Andreas Schuessler, President and CEO of ADMEDES Schuessler GmbH. “These include Nitinol thin film sputtering, advanced laser HAZ-free micro fabrication, polymer coating,  and micro assembly. These are now ready to support our customers in the development and fabrication of innovative medical devices and components.”

Admedes has also established a new business unit called Admedes Smart Systems to extend its services for medical devices made from Nitinol and other materials. Advantages for customers include access to the latest technology innovations; less supply chain management; and short time-to-market for innovative medical devices.
