Perryman Company expands titanium melting capacity by 60%

Perryman Company, Houston, Pa., will substantially increase its titanium melting capacity through additional electron beam and vacuum arc remelt furnaces. The furnaces will be located in Washington County, Pa.

The new furnaces will provide an additional 16 million pounds of titanium melting capacity, increasing Perryman’s total melting capacity to 42 million pounds, firmly establishing Perryman as a world leader in aerospace and medical quality titanium melting.  The company recently announced a major capital investment project to install an open die forge facility. The additional melting capacity complements the new equipment capabilities and supports Perryman’s projection of continued growth over the next ten years.

“As we recover from the pandemic and cope with global events, we remain confident that demand for our titanium products will grow, particularly in the aerospace airframe and engine segments as well as the medical implant segment. This investment in melting capacity fits well with our other strategic initiatives and positions Perryman to meet our customers’ increasing demand,” stated Frank Perryman, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Perryman Company. Construction will start during the summer of 2022 with completion targeted for the summer of 2024.
