Call for Abstracts
Shape the Future of Residual Stress Engineering!
The organizers and the ASM Residual Stress Technical Committee invite you to submit an abstract and showcase your original work/research! This premier event offers a platform for experts to explore the latest advancements and the crucial role of residual stress in materials behavior. Join us in sharing your original work and contributing to the future of residual stress engineering.
Deadline: The Call for Abstracts is now closed. However, if you are interested in participating, please contact the organizers at [email protected].
Conference topics will include (but not limited to):
- Advances in Measurement Methods:
- Mechanical Methods: Hole drilling, slitting, contour method, etc.
- Diffraction methods: electron, x-ray, neutron.
- Other Physics-based methods: Magnetic, acoustic, other methods.
- Manufacturing Processes:
- How materials processing (including AM) impacts resultant stresses
- Impact of Residual Stress on Material and Component Properties:
- impacts of residual stress on strength, distortion, fatigue, corrosion, component performance, failure, etc.
- Advances in Residual Stress Modeling and Simulation:
- Computational modeling and prediction to calculate stress evolution, part distortion, and life prediction.
- Engineering of Residual Stresses:
- Modification of residual stress distribution by thermal or mechanical means including shot peening, heat treatment, and other methods.
Important notes:
- Accepted speakers will be assigned a 20-minute timeslot (15-minute presentation; 5-minute Q&A)
- RSTC will not produce proceedings, so there is no need to submit a manuscript or PowerPoint Presentation for publication. Please bring your PowerPoint presentation with you to the conference for upload before your presentation.
- To maintain the integrity of CRS, please obtain pre-approval to present your work at the conference before submitting your abstract. All costs associated with your participation will be at your expense (travel, housing, and registration fee).
